Pinot Noir

2005

Our 2005 Pinot Noir is Unfiltered & Untraditional!
(And a GOLD MEDAL Winner!!!)

In keeping with French tradition, the slope shouldered "Burgundy Bottle" is generally used for Pinot Noir & Chardonnay, because these are the key grape varieties grown and used in the Burgundy (northern) region of France.

Also in keeping with French tradition, the high shouldered "Bordeaux Bottle" is most often used for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Sauvignon Blanc, because these are key grape varieties in the Bordeaux (southern) region of France.

So why does our 2005 Pinot Noir break with French tradition and sport a "Bordeaux Bottle?" Because we refuse to shrink Bodo! Who, you may ask is Bodo? Bodo is the little flying wine connoisseur in the painting adorning our bottle. He is a mystical magician, and a recurring character in the work of amazing New Orleans artist Martin LaBorde. (Visit www.BEEGalleries.com to see more.) And to properly fit on a traditional Burgundy bottle, little Bodo would have to get little. And we just don't think that is fair to Bodo.

So if it bothers you that you are drinking wonderful GOLD medal-winning wine out of a non-traditional bottle, decant it...or just close your eyes and simply enjoy what your nose and mount have to tell you.

And if that still bothers you, don't worry - there were only about 70 cases made, and we don't mind drinking your share!

A lighter, more traditional style that our 2004, this Pinot is bursting with aromas of red fruit. A background of attractive oak mingles with flavors of fresh cherries, earth and anise, finished with a kiss of vanillin.
